Step outside in Bangkok at noon and you’ve had your warm-up. I have done hot yoga, and I don’t really need it here.
What I like is a studio that leaves the AC off. The room warms up, you sweat sooner, and you settle into the practice faster. Balance & Co leaves it off. Bird of Yoga has AC but can leave it off during class.
Still, plenty of people want a proper hot class. Here are the two I list, plus my no-AC picks, with prices I checked myself. In short: LŪMA and Rana Yoga run hot classes (first classes ฿350 to ฿800), and Balance & Co and Bird of Yoga let the room warm up with the AC off. You can browse all studios or see what’s on this week.
Types of Hot Yoga in Bangkok: Heated Room, Infrared, No AC
Heated room. Heaters warm the air, usually to around 38–41°C. This is the classic hot yoga room.
Infrared. Panels give off infrared heat that warms your body directly, the way sunlight warms your skin, instead of heating the air.
No AC. This is the city’s own heat. You sweat sooner and loosen up faster, and there is no equipment involved.

Bikram vs Hot Yoga vs Infrared Yoga
What is the difference between Bikram and hot yoga? Bikram is a fixed series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, taught in 60 or 90 minutes. Hot yoga is any class in a heated room, so Bikram is a sequence, not a type of heat, and it can be taught in a heated or an infrared room.
Infrared vs hot yoga? Infrared panels warm your body directly, while a heated room warms the air. The air feels less stuffy with infrared for the same warmth, and LŪMA teaches its Bikram-style classes this way.
Which to try, from mild to full heat:
- New to heat? Try a no-AC studio first: Balance & Co or Bird of Yoga.
- Ready for a step up? LŪMA’s Red Light classes (warm panels, room temperature) or Hot Flow (35–37°C).
- Want the full heat? LŪMA’s Hot 60 or Hot 90 (38–41°C), or Rana Yoga’s Hot yoga.
